As a coach / consultant I focus primarily on working with you to identify possibilities and solutions that you may not have previously considered.
My clients often report they find themselves more competent, successful, and actively creative in their lives. Challenges that seemed unsolvable became manageable. Positive change is the result.
Career / Academic Services
Career dilemmas can be complicated, challenging, and rewarding aspects of adult development. Receiving coaching from an experienced career counselor can be an invaluable use of resources with a return on investment that can last a lifetime.
One aspect of my training that sets me apart from many other career coaches is the combination of PhD level career counseling training and traditional psychotherapy training. This combination along with experience in psychoeductional testing and coaching allows me to guide people more efficiently into additional treatment areas if needed. In addition, I have worked at five different universities in a variety of capacities and have developed a depth and breadth of perspective that my clients find valuable.
Finally, I have substantial experience working with academic and other professionals struggling with research and writing projects (e.g. dissertation completion, tenure pursuit, etc.). I regularly receive referrals from Duke’s Counseling and Psychological Services and UNC’s Counseling and Wellness Services for clients with these concerns.
